Professor Claire Smith

Professor Claire Smith has been teaching anatomy for over 20 years. Claire is internationally renowned for being at the forefront of anatomical education, especially in the fields of pedagogical theory, understanding spatial ability and using innovative technologies, e.g. 3D printing and ultrasound. Claire has held various roles including Education Officer for the Anatomical Society, an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, Secretary General for the European Federation of Experimental Morphology and a member of the Federative International Program for Anatomical Education. In addition, Professor Smith is an Associate Editor for Anatomical Sciences Education and the lead author for Gray’s Surface Anatomy and Ultrasound.
