Major Initiatives

BIMHSE has been actively developing several initiatives in medical education, including the IPECP and STaR Programme.

IPECP Programme catalyses the transformative shift in healthcare and promotes interprofessional collaboration in providing patient-centered care. Through well-designed IPECP activities, students learn how to work together effectively by recognising the expertise of other disciplines to complement their own expertise and to deliver the highest quality of care.

As a joint initiative of BIMHSE and Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC), the Student Teaching and Reflection (STaR) Programme is the first of its kind in Asia, designed to honour efforts of undergraduate students in gaining teaching experience within higher education. They will be awarded the Associate Fellowship (AFHEA) accredited by Advance HE in the UK by completing the requirements.

BIMHSE offers the Medical Education Research Clinic Services (MERCS), a consultation service designed to help colleagues refine their education ideas or teaching projects, identify suitable journals, and plan their manuscripts.
