  • Abstract

Our current undergraduate students in the medical faculty fall within the Gen Z cohort.  This cohort comes to university with distinctive learning preferences shaped by technological fluency, heightened awareness of mental health, and expectations for clarity and responsiveness.  While they tend to value authenticity and are strong in collaborative work and rapid information navigation, they may struggle with sustained attention, ambiguity tolerance, and professional identity development. This session will outline typical Gen Z learner characteristics observed in clinical and classroom settings and discuss practical teaching strategies for faculty teachers to better engage and help optimize learning for these students.
