Call for Abstracts

We welcome abstract submissions relating to any aspect of medical or health sciences education for either oral or poster presentation. Submissions may be medical/health sciences education research projects or descriptions of innovations in medical/health sciences education. Submissions must be in English. For research projects please structure your abstract according to the format: Background, Summary of Work, Summary of Results, Conclusions. For innovations in medical education, please structure your abstract under the headings: Context, Intervention, Observations, Conclusions.

Submissions are strictly limited to 300 words and must be submitted online. Selected abstracts will be included in the abstract book and can be presented at the Conference only upon confirmation of registration by the presenting author.

Best Presentation Awards

The best six submissions will be invited to give platform presentation while all abstracts submitted will be considered to the two awards - merit for best oral and merit for best poster presentation, which will be determined by an international panel of judges

Oral presentations will be judged on

  • Originality
  • Methodology
  • Results and conclusion
  • Quality of presentation
  • Significance and impact on medical education

Posters will be assessed on their ability to communicate the key messages clearly and succinctly. The following criteria will be used to judge the poster as displayed:

  • Attraction: does it attract the viewer's attention and is it visually appealing?
  • Design: does it meet the required specification and does it conform to good practice in terms of content and style?
  • What was done (content): is the description clear?
  • The message itself: is the message clear?
  • Relevance of the message: is the message useful and applicable to medical and health sciences education?
